Formed in 1995 by original members Heath Leffel, Matthew Penner and Joe Carignan, Penny District terrorized small crowds in Kansas with loud, snotty, blazing fast pop punk. Eventually, Jose Ray took Joe's place in the band with the addition of Curtis Page, adding outlandish guitar solos. The band recorded one album in 2000 in Heath's living room before finally disbanding in 2001.
